|CD REVIEW Fatal Force|
Band : Fatal Force
Driving force behind this ‘band’ if you can call this a band is Danish guitarist Torben Enevoldsen, known from bands like Fate, Section A or Acacia Avenue as well as from his solo-albums. This is the second Fatal Force album, and is released some six years after their debut release.
Whereas on the first album vocals were handled by Mats Léven (ex-At Vance, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen) this album enlist Michael Vescera (ex-Loudness, also ex-Yngie Malmsteen) as singer. Drums this time were done by Dennis Hansen whereas on the former album Daniel Flores handled the sticks.
The opening song sounds a bit like old school Dream Theater and it must be said Michael Vescera’s vocals almost sound as if he was a copy of Geoff Tate. But there’s more to this album than sounding like Dream Theater, you also get to hear some Dokken, and even some Savatage.
I liked this album very much, it’s nothing original, you’ve heard it all before, but it’s solid guitar driven rock music, with astounding vocals.
