|CD REVIEW Spiders|
Band : Spiders
Spiders’ latest offering is an nine track adrenaline rush from start to finish, as this Swedish quartet return after a two-year hiatus. As I expected from their self titled EP, Spiders’ full-length CD, Flash Point is fully loaded. The longest song on this CD is 4:40 minutes, but most of the songs are only 2 or 3 minute. The production is crisp, clear and retains all of the band's live performance power. This tough biker gang displays a penchant for delivering screaming guitars by ex-Witchcraft’s John Hoyles and soaring vocal melodies by rock babe Ann-Sofie Hoyles. There is only one problem I see with Flash Point; I already want to hear more new Spiders songs, cuz the album is too short.
Offering something for every hard garage rock fan from punchy to pensive, Spiders takes the best of Roadsaw, Truckfighters and Lord Fowl and bands from back in the day like AC/DC, MC5 and The Hard-Ons which create a hard rock experience full of passionate and powerful grooves. Their CD Flash Point simply has enough fire and drive to make it the kind of recording you want to hear again immediately after you finish playing it. A top notch recording.
