|CD REVIEW Consortium Project|
Band : Consortium Project
I could of course have reviewed each of these CD’s separately, but since this are re-releases, and these CD’s, or at least the story they each tell, are linked, consisting of different parts of an evolving story I opted to write one review for the four of them together. For the history, the last installment of this story, Consortium Project V, was released in june 2011.
I suppose I don’t need to tell much about the music itself. This project was born in the mind of Ian Parry, known for his work with Elegy. He was assisted by a score of well known other musicians, some names appear on several albums and others do not. I’ll name but a few:Patrick Rondat – guitars, Stephan Lill – guitars, Dirk Bruinenberg- drums, and the list goes on.
This style of the music that is played is melodic progressive metal. For this rerelease Lion Music have added two bonus tracks on each album, most are either acoustic versions of an existing song, or a bonus demo version, except on Consortium Project IV, where a new tract was added.
If you don’t already own a copy of these albums, now’s the time to buy them. If you haven’t got the complete series, this is the time to add the missing albums. And if you hadn’t heard of this project before, this is definitely the time to try this out. They’re great albums.
