|CD REVIEW Overkill|
Overkill is an American trash metal band that was formed in 1980. The band knew many line-up changes but singer Bobby Ellsworth and bassist D.D. Verni remain from the original lineup. The band is one of the most successful East Coast thrash metal bands. The band has a notable mascot named Chaly, a skeletal bat with a skull-like face, bony wings, and green eyes. Chaly has appeared on most of their album covers.
To date, The Band has already released 16 studio albums, 2 EPs, 2 live albums and a cover album. The band achieved a lot of respect and attention but never achieve commercial success until they popularized "thrash" in the late 1980s with their contemporaries like Slayer, Anthrax,….
And now the band succeeds at doing what they do best. producing a solid kick ass trash metal album. It has catchy tunes, old school trash riffs, and so much more. Each song is a masterpiece witch makes you feel bad that these guys never got the attention they deserved back in the days. Must have album without a doubt.
