George Gakis was a complete mystery to me, by which I mean I had never before heard of this guy, although in his native Greek country he has massively toured the country and has supported/co-operated with some of rocks biggest names like Deep Purple, The Scorpions, to name but a few, and has also already released a few self-financed albums.

For this album he has worked with a lot of famous names in our genre, like Joe Lynn Turner, James Kottak, Greg Smith and the list goes on.  The album was co-produced, mixed and mastered by none other than Kip Winger. There are eleven tracks on the album, ten tracks are his own work, and the 11th bonus track is his version of a traditional Greek song ‘Mi Me Kitas’, in an arrangement by Yiannis Spathas, who actually also plays the intro lead guitar on this song. The music on this album is bluesy 80ies hard rock, well performed both musically as vocally.  To say Mr. Gakis to me was like an undiscovered gem would be an understatement.  It’s been a long time since I’ve heard another album that could captivate me from start to finish.

If you’re  a fan of this kind of music, you should buy the album.
