Ill Niño is an American metal band from New York and was founded in 1998 by drummer Dave Chavarri. That same year they released a 4 song demo with Jorge Rosado (formerly of Merauder) on vocals and Cristian Machado playing bass. The next year, they parted ways with Rosado, and started looking for a new vocalist, but ultimately decided that the best decision was for Machado to step up to vocals. El Niño then changed their name to Ill Niño, released an EP in 2000, and signed with Roadrunner Records shortly thereafter.

5 albums and 11 years later, the band is good for yet another record. The best part of this band is also their downfall in my eyes. Over all those years the band stayed very consistent. So yes it's cool that the band stayed true to their roots and "almost" sounds the same as back in the days. But after all those records, I would have loved to hear something more, or extra. It surely isn't a bad record, but it’s typical.
