Orchid are fairly new to the scene, having only just formed in 2007, but they sound like they've been around for a good 30 or 40 odd years.

This 4-piece outfit mixes all the best the 70s has, or had, to offer, and spews forth some of the most convincing vintage doom rock I've heard in a long time.  CA’s Orchid are back only a year after their debut Capricorn with a new four-track EP and a new label, Nuclear Blast. First off, I gotta say I love the cover art, very comic-like. The title track is fan-freakin-tastic! It just has this killer Nirvana-like groove that you can't help get lost in. The third cut, “Saviours of the blind” is also what I'd call a definite ass-kickin' number.

Anyway, Heretic is a good bridge between full-lengths, here's hoping the wait is not to long.
