|CD REVIEW Soulspell|
Band : Soulspell
I seem to have altogether missed the first two episodes f this metal opera but this third release at least gives me a bit of a chance to see what I might have missed. The first of the three albums A Legacy Of Honor was released in 2008 and followed up in 2010 by The Labyrinth Of Truths. The project Soulspell was created by Heleno Vale, Brasilian of origin.
Judging by the names of the vocalists participating on this project, I already might have guessed that this was going to be something good, and my guesses were completely confirmed. This is an album that can stand next to the Avantasia albums. I’ll only name a few guest singers, and you might already get the picture: Amanda Sommerville, Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens, Markus Grosskopf, and the list goes on. The number of other musicians that contributed to these albums is quite frankly astonishing, and I wonder how they managed to unite these to bring us this fantastic CD.
Of course with such an abundance of singers and musicians, there is a lot of variety on this album, but not one song stands out like a sore tooth. Highly recommended for those of you who like projects like Avantasia or Aina.
