Lars Eric Mattsson has resurrected Book Of Reflections for this third album. It has become an album of good melodic progressive power metal, maybe a bit overloaded with guitar solo’s, but I would suggest you form your own opinion about it.  I liked the album.

Vocals were handled by Carsten ‘Lizard’ Schulze (Evidence One, Domain) and by Markku Kuikka (Staus Minor).  The guitarwork by Mr. Mattsson is exquisite, and his compositions are very nice.

This I think is an album that could please old Rainbow fans, as well as Yngwie Malmsteen fans, but also anyone who likes prog metal in general.  The keyboards are fantastic, but not that prominent, although they interfere in just the right way at just the right time.  If you ask me it’s the keyboards that help this band to remind you of vintage Rainbow.

A very nice album, that may very well, but sadly, not receive enough attention with the myriads of releases that are coming out.

92/100
