Heaven Rain hails from Bosnia.  This is their second album, the first album ‘Far And Forever’ was released in 2008.  Since then there have been changes in the line-up, the original vocalist Bozidar Sevic was replaced by Miona Graorac and guitar player Igor Drageij replacing Igor Paspaij.

This album should appeal to fans of Kamelot and Sonata Arctica I guess, it doen’t have the quality of those bands yet, but give the band some more time and they might achieve the same standard.

What’s striking is the voice of Miona, she has a quite heavy, smoky,  almost male sounding voice.
Another feature of this band are the keyboards.  They are just adorable, not only when supporting the other instruments, but equally when they are put more to the forefront.

Whereas the biography told me that founder Goran Bastinac wanted to combine Progressive metal with Power metal, I find it very hard to fit Heaven Rain’s music under one or the other category.  It has influences of both genres, but there are other things in it as well.

A very good album, advisable to all metal, and even hard rock fans.
