CD REVIEW Adrenaline Mob

Band : Adrenaline Mob
Album title : Omertà
Label : Century Media Records
Distributor : EMI
Release Date : 19/03/2012
Release : CD

These days a lot of projects see the light.  Adrenaline Mob is one of them.  Since Mike Portnoy left Dream Theater (or was forced to leave) he’s also been involved I some projects, Adrenaline Mob being one of them.  For this he teemed up with Russell Allen (Symphony X, Allen/Lande) and Mike Orlando ((Sonic Stomp).  To complete the band they asked John Moyer (Disturbed).

Fans of Dream Metal beware. This album contains no prog metal whatsoever.  This is power metal at it’s finest.  It’s high energy music, with a pounding rhythm section.  However I had expected more with a line-up like this.  It is not a bad album, but it is I guess not one that will be remembered.

There are 11 tracks on the album, one of them is a cover from a Duran Duran song ‘Come Undone’, how they came to the idea to cover a Duran Duran  song remains a mystery to me.  This is by the way the only song on which a guest vocalist is present, being Lizzy Hale (Halestorm).

If you’re familiar with the EP Adrenaline Mob released in 2011, you know what to expect of this band.  If you already own that EP, you’ve got bad luck, cause most if not all of the songs are also on this album.

85/100
