CD REVIEW Train

Band : Train
Album title : California 37
Label : Sony Music

Release Date : Out now
Release : CD

If it hadn’t been for their hit single ”Drops Of Jupiter”, Train would probably have stayed relatively unknown around the world. But this hit made them famous, although they never really achieved the same success thereafter. Would this band, as so many before them, stay a one-hit wonder?

This new Train album, their sixth so far, may not contain a similar hit single, but it proves that this band can consistently deliver good quality music. Proof of it is the fact that some nine years after their first success they managed to score another hit, with “Hey Soul Sister”. This album has some tracks that could become potential hit singles like ”Drive By”, or even the opening track ‘This’ll Be My Year’, or ”50 Ways To Say Goodbye”, a track that starts with mariachi trumpets.

Beware though. This is by no means a hard rock or not even an AOR album.  This is radio friendly rock music, but I do like it.
